My grandfathers told stories. My father told stories. Even now, my brother and his son tell stories. I’ve even seen my oldest niece tell stories.
It’s instinct. And an essential element of your business.
You need a product or a service. You need good delivery and execution. Your product or service needs to solve a problem. You need to have acquisitions and retention. Your customer service needs to be on par. You need funding. And you need to generate revenue.
But the foundation that’s all based on is your message and your story.

From WordPress to Content
I began freelancing as a WordPress designer a decade ago. One of the issues I kept seeing was the lack of content. Clients wouldn’t know what to write or how to go about the process.
When they did come up with content, honestly, it wasn’t very good. It read robotic, it was very centric and did not persuade conversions.
Worse, clients had no effective plan in place to generate leads. They were often dropping several hundred dollars or thousands of dollars, but the content did very little converting.
I guess I like to play with words a little more than code. I became obsessed. How do we make their content better? How do we communicate what my client offers more effectively? These are the questions that haunted me.
Content Marketing is the answer.
Fast forward a decade. Now, content is everywhere. Frankly, if you aren’t on the content train, you are only catching up. The content train has left the station. By 2021, companies will spend as much as $412.88 B on content marketing and copywriting.
If you are not producing content, it doesn’t matter if you have a website, you are simply falling behind.
75% of marketers are increasing investment in content marketing. By ignoring content marketing, and failing to embrace current trends, you will fall behind your competitors who are making the most of content streams.
Therefore, the content has to be better. Content that sounds like a Public Relations piece won’t work. People are craving better content because there is so much to choose from. They’re craving stories they can connect with and share.
At my core, my most precious value is that everyone is made in the image of God. I hold dear to that and it drives me. This causes me to seek to serve and help people, often, to a fault.
If we are made in the Image of God, then each person has the potential and the right to strive to be the best they can and to be an entrepreneur. No one should be told they can’t be an entrepreneur.
Each path to entrepreneurship is different, but there is always the overcoming of adversity.
Passion to Create
I have always created things. I loved art as a kid. I drew stadium, arenas and race cars. I made up imaginary tournaments. That is what I love about content. With content, you get to create. You can create the strategy, the article, the marketing campaign, and it goes to the very core of a person who likes to create.
